Kushi Movie Review 2023 – Story

Viplav, an employee at BSNL played by Vijay Deverakonda, is instantly captivated by Aaradhya, portrayed by Samantha, from the very moment he lays eyes on her. But in order to keep Viplav away, Aaradhya creates a false identity and poses as a Muslim from Pakistan. As fate would have it, Aaradhya ends up falling madly in love with Viplav, which prompts her to reveal her true origins: she comes from a traditional Brahmin family.

Their dads, Lenin Satyam (Sachin Khedekar), and Chadarangam Srinivasa Rao (Murali Sharma), are engaged in a terrible quarrel, which Viplav and Aaradhya are unaware of. Viplav and Aaradhya decide to get married in spite of their parents’ adamant opposition, which opens the door to unexpected difficulties in their marriage. How they overcome these obstacles and come up with answers is at the center of the story.

Kushi Movie Plus Points

The film doesn’t explore groundbreaking themes but rather delves into the everyday relationship issues that people commonly face. These issues are presented in a light-hearted manner in the second half, complemented by excellent music and stunning visuals.

The interactions between the lead characters in the latter part of the movie are a highlight, especially for family audiences. While the scenes themselves may not be entirely new, they are portrayed convincingly. As Viplav, Vijay Deverakonda shines, abandoning his popular image to better fit his role. His comic timing, performance, and delivery of a crucial scene are all wonderful.

Star actress Samantha is charming as Kushi, exuding cuteness and finesse in her portrayal. Her chemistry with Vijay Deverakonda is solid, and she effortlessly handles emotional sequences. The film balances fun and emotions effectively in the latter part. Excellent supporting performances come from Sharanya, Murali Sharma, Rohini, Sharanya Pradeep, Sachin Khedekar, and Rahul Ramakrishna.

Kushi Movie Review: Technical Points

Kushi relies heavily on Hesham Abdul Wahab’s music, which functions almost like a second protagonist. The tunes are excellent, and the director of photography Murali does an excellent job of capturing them. The breathtaking sights greatly improve the experience of watching. Although Mythri Movie Makers did not cut corners when it came to production qualities, the editing might use some work.

Shiva Nirvana, the director, is then dealt with by him skillfully. In his signature manner, Shiva Nirvana chooses a straightforward but accessible idea that appeals to married people. Kushi falls into the same genre as the director’s earlier works in that it also deals with topics that pertain to everyday life. The casting is top-notch, and the director assembles a solid technical team to bring his vision to life.

Last Verdict

Kushi is a delightful romantic comedy overall, with its second half standing out in particular. This last section of the movie is where the main storyline develops, providing gripping drama and emotional depth. Samantha and Vijay Deverakonda give charming performances, while the rest of the ensemble supports them well. But as was already observed, the movie’s opening acts are weak, and a shorter running period might have had a bigger impact. Shiva Nirvana does, however, manage to create a relevant movie for family audiences, making Kushi a weekend watch that is worthwhile.
